Rona Schweitz is the Coordinator for the Brahma Kumaris Manhattan Meditation Center. She is a medical doctor by profession; but, her conviction that most of the ailments of human beings have their roots at the emotional and spiritual level inspired her to dedicate herself full time to the work of the Brahma Kumaris over the last 13 years. She is an avid meditator and spiritual student with the Brahma Kumaris for more than 25 years.

HISTORY

The Meditation Center has a history spanning over 20 years having started operations  in 1997.  The purpose of the Manhattan Meditation Center is to help you rediscover your true inner self. Our unique, calm environment, with experienced meditation teachers, is a great place to attend lectures, courses and events.

The Center shall be a lighthouse–a beacon of peace, love, strength and stability serving people from all walks of life who represent all cultures and traditions.

A safe and serene spiritual oasis, the Meditation Center inspires individuals from all, backgrounds and walks of life, to look inward, upward, and forward to explore their true nature, innate values, and higher purpose.

We have a room for courses and public lectures as well as a meditation room, where we hold guided meditation sessions. The meditation room can also be used for individual meditations and reflections or to just sit in silence and detach from the buzz of everyday life.

The Brahma Kumaris is a worldwide spiritual movement dedicated to personal transformation and world renewal.

The organization teaches Raja Yoga Meditation as a way of experiencing peace of mind and a positive approach to life. Additionally, the organization provides opportunities for people from all backgrounds and faith traditions to explore their own spirituality and learn skills of reflection and meditation derived from Raja Yoga. This will help to develop inner calm, clear thinking, and personal well-being.
